Baturraden, a no-time-fall-in-love Landscape

Indonesia is my homeland. I was born in Semarang City, Central Java. And for 4 years, I have been lived in Yogyakarta for my bachelor study.
This time, I want to introduce you to a city I fond of, Purwokerto, Banyumas. I spent 2 months in a district called Baturraden for a community services. Extraordinary view and landscape can be found in Baturraden. It is located right on the foot of Slamet Mountain, an active volcano in Java Island. Volcano? Yes, it is. I could heard explosions due to its activity, awesome.
For your information, I lived in Desa Wisata Ketenger. We came in big team contained 27 people lived in 3 different places. I lived with 8 another in Dusun Karangpule--Dusun refers to smaller unit of village. Programs had been arranged before we began the community service. I enjoyed teaching the elementary school students, they were so cheerful and reminded me so much about my childhood.
One day, we met second grade student alone on the side road, so me and my friend take him home. Surprisingly, his mom had awaited him since she looked at his classmates already home for an hour before. His mom cried right away as he arrived. She was so worried before and thanked us afterwards. Personally, I was so glad. Why? Because, it was not a big deal to walk with him home. Then I thought "it's just a walk, a short walk, and I help others, what happen if I do something better?" At that time, I determined to do better for society not in that community service only.
Happy Class :)
On another day, I walked through the village, we met people. I observed that there were people have small shops selling household's supplies. In order to complete my observation, I asked a merchant to purchase her merchandise inventory. The next day, at dawn, before the sun rises, my friend and I accompanied her. Great! Time to explore another place. It really a thrilling yet good trip to the traditional market. We still saw the moon an the stars. The morning breeze was so cold and refreshing. The dark road in the road and across the paddy field is quite spooky since nobody around us. The market itself is full of energy, people start their day very early. They welcomed the day with great spirit in their humble life. After we bought things, we went back to the dorm in Karangpule. God's greatness came in front of our eyes again. The dark sky turned pink little by little, the sun has not risen yet. But, I could see smoke on the top of Slamet Mountain very clearly. As we passed that road, the sun started to rise. Wow! I was mesmerized by the scenery. You need to be there. Clear water flowing through the ditch with the calming sound.
Planning of Business Observation
It's a duty, but above all the duty from community service made me feel so grateful and thankful that I came to that place. I fall in love with Baturraden in no time. The people, the landscape, and the energy are things I never met before. Those was a small bite of my big piece super wonderful Pie of story. What's yours?
